Stalled Out

I have stalled the engine in the middle of the freeway.  In graphic design I have the intended advisor as a teacher.  When asked she told me that she was not interested in starting a print publication.  So know I have to figure out a plan B.  I'll let you know what i figure out. €peace€

Fundraising

• dinner catered by catering club w/ proceeds going to the newspaper

• keep the students informed about decisions made that may affect them.

Starting Out

I moved to a small town last year.  To my dismay the school doesn't have a newspaper.  It does however have an online journal.  This journal has no readers though.  My plan is to transform the journal into a newspaper distributed twice a month. 

There are some problems though.  First the advisor is a umm unfriendly to say the least.  I am afraid she will be unreceptive to the idea and want to keep it an online journal in which place I will be forced to start from scratch .  Another problem is with money.  The school district is poor.  When I say poor I mean POOR.  Our elementray has been condemed for at least four years and we are still about 2 million dollars short of what is needed to build a new one.  Of course government funding is minimal so fundraising will be nessasary to buy ink and paper. 

I have been makeing numerous lists some on fundraising idea and others on why a newspaper would be good for the school.  This is in preporation for having to pitch it to the advisor, the principal and the counsler.  Needless to say I am quite nervous and upset because my last attempt to write this ended in it being deleted.
